Since its inception, SMG has trusted Res Publica Group for its well-rounded communications and marketing expertise, helping them grow to become the world’s largest operator of stadiums, arenas and convention centers. But in May 2017, their world and that of so many others, changed forever. The unthinkable happened at SMG’s Manchester Arena, as pop star Ariana Grande was ending her show. A bomb exploded outside – echoing throughout the facility and leaving hundreds dead and wounded. We were asked to immediately manage the response amid the unfolding chaos.

Res Publica Group undertook a comprehensive program to define a new visual and brand identity that would resonate with national and international audiences. However, the transformation of two family-owned and branded companies into Breakthru Beverage Group entailed much more than a simple name change.

Res Publica Group has developed a number of multi-platform, multilingual advertising campaigns for CountyCare, Cook County Health and Hospitals System’s Medicaid Health Plan. Faced with never-ending market change, competition and consolidation, CountyCare must continue to distinguish and market itself as a health plan of choice.

Res Publica Group created LOL Illinois to pressure Illinois’ elected leaders to pass a responsible, balanced budget after a more than two-year impasse. Faced with an environment where neither side was willing to listen to or hear solutions, the Civic Committee of the Commercial Club of Chicago was looking for a creative way to push Springfield to act. In just over three months, more than four million people have been reached on Facebook and over 40,000 letters have been sent to the Governor, Speaker of the House, Senate President and local legislators demanding action on a budget.

Res Publica Group designed and executed a communications strategy for U.S. Silica to educate audiences and gain support for expanded operations across the Midwest at a time when growing demand for oil and gas in the U.S. brought increased public attention to one unexpected industry – sand mining.

Res Publica Group is proud to serve as a longstanding partner to the Chicago Blackhawks, providing communications and marketing support to promote their efforts both on and off the ice since 2007. In 2015, Chicago Blackhawks’ ownership and management finalized plans for their 125,000-square-foot community training center, a privately-funded facility to be used for youth hockey development programs, recreational leagues and other events, while also serving as the practice facility for the Chicago Blackhawks and visiting National Hockey League teams.

Res Publica Group had a front row seat to one of the nation’s largest and most heavily watched healthcare industry mergers. The proposal to bring together NorthShore University HealthSystem and Advocate Health Care involved 45,000 employees and physicians, billions of dollars in revenue and hundreds of thousands of patients. We were brought on board early before intentions were announced, and helped the parties navigate an extensive public, state and regulatory approval process. The complex communication challenges they managed, were on par with the operational and legal hurdles they would also face.
